Wind farms’ benefit fund supports more local projects in its fifth year running

Eleven local projects, including Brighter Bervie and two scout groups - Laurencekirk and Inverbervie – have, between them, been awarded nearly £92,000 from the Tullo & Twinshiels Wind Farms community benefit fund. Local schoolgirl’s logo design wins over judges

A recent competition to design a logo for the new Eneco UK Ltd and Co-operative Energy tariff, Highlands & Mearns Wind, has been won by five-year-old Siobhan Grant from Strathgarve Primary School. Read more

Osprey incident at Moy Wind Farm

A spokesperson for Eneco said: “On Friday 20th May a male Osprey was found injured at the base of a turbine on the Moy wind farm by an Eneco UK contractor. The SSPCA was quickly informed in line with procedures and the injured bird was taken to a local vet; unfortunately as a result of its injuries the bird was put to sleep. Read more

From Moy to Mars…and back!

Today (Thursday 12 May 2016), local, European and global guests helped Eneco UK Ltd (Eneco) open the 60MW Moy Wind Farm. A coat of arms for the wind farm was designed by nine-year old competition winner, Lois Ferguson. The design was unveiled to members of the community, special guests, local school children and representatives from Mars, Incorporated.  Read more

Pupils hop to it for Easter treats

The pupils of Laurencekirk Primary School were treated today (30 March) to an Easter egg hunt with a twist – it was at Tullo & Twinshiels Wind Farms wildlife walk. Renewable energy developer Eneco UK, provided the children with bunny ears and a traditional Easter egg hunt. Read more

Wind Farm funding open to the local community

Local community groups and organisations looking for funding can apply to the Tullo & Twinshiels Wind Farms community benefit fund, administered by Mearns Area Partnership. This year’s fund, in the region of £134,000, is open for applications until the 31st January 2016. Successful applicants will be notified in March 2016. Read more

The next wave of growth for the Eneco UK business is expected to come from innovative products and services related to the already established asset base. Renewable energy company, Eneco UK is pleased to announce the winners of their Lochluichart Wind Farm photography competition. Local amateur photographers were given the opportunity to photograph the wind farm known locally as the ‘Spinny Turners’. The competition was open to two categories; under and over 16’s. Read more

There has been sightings of a number of new arrivals at Sevor Farm Solar, in South Marston Swindon. At a closer look it was confirmed that they are in fact renewable energy company, Eneco’s new solar sheep family. Wind farm opens up for photography competition

Renewable energy company Eneco UK is launching a photography competition to the local community to help capture their views of Lochluichart Wind Farm, known locally as The Spinny Turners. The competition will be launched today and closes on the 26 June. Two lucky winners will win a new camera as well as having their work displayed at Aultguish Tourism Bothy, sponsored by Eneco which opens on 1 June and is based at the western end of Loch Glascarnoch at the Aultguish Inn. The Visitor Lab gives an Aultguish panorama view, history and things to do and see in the area.  Read more

Little bloomers help wildlife walk blossom

School children from St Cyrus Primary School planted 89 trees along the Tullo and Twinshiels Wind Farms wildlife walk at Collardo Farm, in Garvock last month. The primary seven children were invited to take part in the tree planting exercise by renewable energy company, Eneco to help them learn about the local wildlife and greener energy. Read more
