Eneco helping to build stronger communities
Eneco UK’S extensive portfolio of wind and solar assets across the UK generates up to 200MW of renewable energy each year.
As part of our commitment to supporting the communities in which we operate, Eneco has set up long term Community Benefit Funds in each area whereby a portion of revenue generated by our wind and solar farms is allocated to local communities to fund local projects.
During 2020, Eneco has administered over £873,000 to community groups including the Mearns Area Partnership, Lochluichart Community Trust and Community Fund organisations including Marybank, Scatwell, Strathconon, Contin, Lybster & Tannach, Strathnairn, Strathdearn and Wareham St. Martin.
Projects included the building of a new community centre in Contin and generally supporting the communities during a very difficult year.
This year it has been heartening to see worthy projects benefit from Eneco Community Benefit Funds. The initiatives enable and empower communities to realise their ambitions and it gives us great satisfaction to play our part in this.
