Eneco partners with local parish council to create an inspiring space around sevor farm solar

Eneco UK, owner of Sevor Farm Solar, is working in partnership with South Marston Parish Council and local landscaping company, Greenshave Services to encourage pupils from South Marston Church of England Primary School to learn more about their community and its archaeology.

As part of the project, information boards will be installed along the permissive footpath around Sevor Farm Solar with fascinating facts on the history of South Marston village, solar energy and local wildlife. A local wood crafter, Denius Parson of Artby, has carved wildlife forms from local wood supplied by Greenshave Services along the route.

Commenting on the project: Zoisa Walton, Country Director from Eneco said: “We are thrilled to be working with a local business and craftsman to create an enhanced community space for local people to enjoy. Eneco very much enjoys being part of South Marston and are pleased to support wherever possible.”

Barry Thunder, South Marston Parish Councillor added: “Our three year partnership with Eneco has been remarkable in that their support to our village continues to flourish. We are working closely with Eneco to develop a greater awareness of solar energy generation. Eneco’s on-going sponsorship in village events, such as our Easter Egg hunt, has helped to provide an opportunity for the village to come together. We look forward to our continuing association.”

Last month, the local pupils demonstrated their investigating skills as they took part in an Easter Egg hunt, organised by South Marston Parish Council and sponsored by Eneco.

The inquisitive youngsters combed St Julian's Community Woodland in South Marston searching for clues to unveil prizes of Easter eggs, Amazon vouchers and cinema tickets. Helping on the hunt were Eneco staff resplendent in Easter costumes including an Easter bunny and Spring chick.
